Celebrating Mother’s Day

May brings us many ways to celebrate and I think the most important one is Mother’s Day!  In my area, that day/weekend is also filled with College graduations and Mile of Hope (MOH).  MOH is a weekend offered to local families whose Child is undergoing Cancer treatment from the Hospitals of UNC, Duke and ECU.  It is an Optimist event and several local Optimist clubs raise money to offer this care-free/ and cost/free weekend for these families.  What blessings these three celebrations are!

So, how will you be celebrating Mother’s Day this year?  It’s day’s like this that I wish I could go back in time and spend the day with my mom!  Now I celebrate her memories.  We would start the day with mom opening her gifts, then cutting a rose from the rosebush to pin to our church clothes.  It use to be all red roses, now it’s many white roses.  Then off to church and out to eat lunch, usually at the local K & S Cafeteria!  We would often meet other members of our family there – it was definitely the best of times.  By the time we got through the “long” line, eat and visited, it was usually late in the afternoon so, we would come home and relax!  What a day of visiting and awesome sweet memories!

So how do you plan to make memories this Mother’s day?  Make lots of memories and have a very Happy Mother’s Day!
